I signed up for the Talk Pro 50 package. It is a monthly contract and is full LLU. However, I believe Xilo will soon offer a similar package for CPW LLU broadband only, leaving the phone service on the BT based infrastructure.

My current package with IDNet hasn't been reliable enough for the past few months so I hope the switchover to a different non-BT backbone will solve the issues.

As I've said my problem is with the local loop and I've found iDNet's service to be good so I'm not thinking of moving. However, I've tried the Xilo checker and it tells me I can't have the pro packages, which suggests that even though an exchange is TT enabled, they won't necessarily supply via their wholesale arm.

Pro won't show the TTB wholesale services. Try under the Phone+BB tab.

However, that'll change in a week or so when the SMPF TTB service will appear under Pro too.

Yup it does show up under the phone/BB tab but that would be fully unbundled which wouldn't be what I wanted. I'd be happy to leave the phone and line with BT (wholesale or otherwise) and just have LLU broadband, mainly to eliminate BTs DLM.

BT phone service has never been a problem so I see no need to change, other than via BT wholesale. If I go fully unbundled and it turns out to be a bad move, I then have the problems of getting back a BT line back and so on. There's only TT and Orange LLU on the exchange.

OK the line is not very good for broadband, but I doubt whether moving to a new line would be any better since none of my neighbours are getting near the speeds I get; in fact some are getting little more than dial up. The only *possible* advantage in a BB move might be the different DLM.

Things are not yet quite bad enough to move, although that could change if the line deteriorates further. BT have said recently that the area will get FTTC "eventually".

Not having to suffer through a Return To Donor (RTD) if you wish to migrate somewhere else - with the risk of losing your phone number as happened to at least one ex-Bulldog customer.
