So far, so good

After years of a dodgy phone line which couldn't justify anything than the Orange slowcoach (1.4-3.5Mbps downloads @48 attn), I've taken the plunge with IDNet fibre and phone.

Not on the BTW checker yet (only activated first thing this morning) but TBB gives 31.6/8.3 against the 25 +/-1 estimate, which is amazing compared to ADSL2+ WBC on my line, and I'm still over 1km from the cab. I expect a bit of DLM trouble as the line stabilises but still!

Can't fault IDNet admin: both line transfer and fibre install (which had to be done separately because of the Orange set up) confirmed as committed withiin the hour of submission of the respective web-forms, even the router via PO turned up at the same time as the Engineer! Line transfer took 2 weeks due to slamming rules, and fibre activation done within the week. Phone didn't take well to the transfer but has now settled, apart from a bit of misbehaviour from the 1571 service (can't clear the broken dial tone by deleting messages, but it doesn't matter). Top marks to Brian for dealing with my niggles.

Post result from BT speedtest. I doubt you'll have an issue with DLM.

You're right: IP profile has increased slightly (must be near 1km from Cab):

Quite chuffed as ADSL WBC managed 4Mbps speeds at 48db attn. Downloads have run at up to 30ish Mbps according to TBBmeter.
