Re: Packet loss/latency issues started today

It is.

Doing "What is my IP" from any device gave it.

Edit: Plusnet didn't tell us it was 128/127. They just said "Your IPv6 address is" whatever it was.

Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro, 4G+ (LTE) max 165Mbps down, 24Mbps up on Three Mobile, and B311 4G+ router, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up (Three)ZTE MF286D router speedtest.net 113/20Mbps.

In reply to a post by E300:
Support have not offered to swap me to any other backhaul, so I presume they either can't on FTTP or its too expensive to and they'd rather lose the customer.

Zen no longer show who the backhaul provider is on the 2 accounts I can access. 1 is an FTTC line and the other FTTP.

In the past Zen would allow us to request a switch between BTw, TTB or their own backhaul (if available).
I don't think that's an option on Zen any more.

They switched the FTTC line I manage from BTw to Zen backhaul around a year ago and it negatively affected the base latency.
We were told at the time it can't be changed.

I've no idea what the current Zen policy is on switching backhaul but it doesn't appear to be as flexible as it used to be.

It could be as you say that they don't allow you to change backhaul at all on FTTP.
It could also be the case that where they have their own backhaul they insist on that being used.
They may have just stopped customers changing backhaul completely.
No idea. It's as transparent as a brick wall.

I see what you are saying. So when IDNet used to swap people to a different backhaul, it wasn't IDNet that had alternative backhaul suppliers or arrangements, they were just getting Zen to swap the customer, so when Zen stopped swapping people, so did IDNet.
