I'm about to sign up with IDNet - anyone care to pop me their account name so we can both get £10 credit?

Mostly good so far thanks.

I'm getting full upload speed, but I expect that I'm maxing out public speedtesters for download as I'm 'only' hitting 888Mb/s. I'm going to set up a server in AWS / Azure to run iPerf from to confirm, but either way, it's a great improvement from what I was on.

Only niggle is latency, this has jumped 35-40% from my old Plusnet FTTC line which was unexpected.

What was your experience of latency when switching to IDNet?

Replied to your other thread about latency but you can do an iperf to this server and it hits max for me:

iperf3.exe -t 120 -c paris.testdebit.info -p 9208 -P 20 -R

NOTE: thats for windows but I think the windows iperf has some issues so it doesnt get as fast. If you have mac/linux it should be fine or if you use WSL to boot a linux command line version on Windows you will get full rate.
Another one to test is if you have bought a game off EA/Origin, I have found they are one of the fastest platforms to download from maxing my net out testing using BF5.

Thanks that's a good shout about using WSL to avoid Windows bottleneck - I'll give this a go over the weekend.

To be fair it may not be all Windows fault as the iperf binary for Windows hasnt been updated in years.

Was initially getting in and around 780 - 800Mbit/s off that server for download, then tried it with a forced IPv4 name resolution and it jumped to 940 - 960Mbit/s. I guess the are just more / better IPv4 routes available.

Upload was steady at 113Mbit/s, so overall pretty good result!

It may also be pppoe/your router that is causing the ipv6 to be slower. A lot dont handle ipv6 with the same speed.
What is your gateway device out of interest?
