Is that for diag’s or do you power everything off (and back up) each day?The AV equipment is powered off to save money (been doing it for years now on a timer socket). The WAP is part of that since there's no point having it active if the house is asleep.
The mail server was initially given a daily power cycle in an attempt to stop it freezing. It didn't work (seems to be something related to Windows Update) but I decided I might as well leave it powered off overnight to save a bit more power. I used to have the modem (HG612(*)) and router powered off but stopped doing that when I rearranged the room. Dunno why really - that's a bit more power I could save.
Having turned the VoIP off it does appear to be the router - a Vigor 2762. Just another oddity. I have an IPv6 TBBQM set up for my mail server and for some reason this is the result:
My Broadband Ping
It was never like that on the previous router, lol.
(*)Yes, an original HG612. I'm hoping it'll last until Openreach FTTP arrives and since I saw them yesterday stuffing what looked like a black hosepipe into the ducts near my house I reckon it'll only have to hang on another six months
