Apple results

Seem healthy enough:

But how can fiscal 2009 first quarter end on December 27, 2008?

I guess their fiscal year started September 27, so most of the year they are now in falls in 2009. Only the first quarter is in 2008, but it's easier to say fiscal 2009 than fiscal 2008/9
