Classic, I saw dozens back in the days when I was still working for a Apple Service Provider.

Cracked edges (front/palmrest) or changing colour from white to yellow are both reason for a free replacement under warranty.

Just remember that if the unit is technically out of warranty, one needs to convice Customer Relations to issue a CS code first.

Kind Regards

Malte

Never mind about the Wireless range. I can't stand how hot they feel to touch when I type on one - feels very uncomfortable to me.

Long live the PISMO - best mac laptop ever made!

Kind Regards

Malte

occasionally firefox starts bingeing on cpu cycles and the case gets hot, otherwise mine runs pretty cool.

Must be a newer model. The hottest one ever was the original 2006 MacBook Pro. You could literally use it as a hot plate to keep your food warm. wink

Kind Regards

I can also confirm that this is a common fault - happened to me a month or so ago. Called up apple, they logged the problem asking me to take it to the nearest apple store or service centre. I took it to the trafford centre that weekend, and within an hour it had be replaced with a new top cover. smile

Was this in the original warranty period ?

or was it during AppleCare time ?

- just rather interested in case mine develops cracks again once my Applecare has expired
