So Apple Say

[link to this post]

They will do me a 15" Macbook Pro (2.53GHz 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD) with 3 year Apple Care support for £1200.85, I can knock £58 off if I didn't want the Apple Care.
Should I accept the offer? Is it worth having Apple Care?

Yes, AppleCare IS worth having.

Take it.. if anything happens to that machine in the next 3 years, they'll sort/replace the part for free.

Sure, I just need you account number, sortcode, mothers maiden name and address - I'll then happily get you one wink

Definately get it.

Mine has gone bad after two-and-a-half years. I'm hoping it's the known NVidia issue with 2007-2008 Macbook Pros (in which case they'll repair for free even outside of warranty), but if it's not I'm probably going to have to fork out for a new logic board. Really wish I had taken out AppleCare now. frown

ta,
Phil.

What are the symptoms? Do you get no video even with an external monitor, for example?

So I'm going to pop into an Apple Store on Saturday to get my Macbook Pro there (so I can then give this Macbook back to my old employers)...
I understand that the student off for the Apple Care is only available online/over the phone, I need the Macbook ASAP as I'm in and out of the country quite a bit at the moment. If the store can't offer that deal to me, do you think I'd be able to still buy the Apple Care at a later date?
