OS X Print Driver Resets

Hi All, I run an iMAC on OS X 10.6.4 and I'm having trouble getting a newly downloaded print driver from Apple update installing properly. Every time I reinstall the printer (an HP Photosmart all in one device) it continues to pick up the old driver. I believe I've seen a posting on this somewhere before but I can't find it. Can anyone plase offer some help?

Although mine haven't (touchwood) HP drivers seem to be causing some issues (HP seem a bit rubbish at this, but I much prefer there devices to Canon or Epson).
