Apple Mail Rules

[link to this post]

Mail 1.2.5 & OS10.2.8

I've used a set of about 12 Rules for several years now, to sort incoming mail into various folders.

But the rules have now suddenly vanished, except for the standard "News from Apple" rule.

It would be tedious to try to write all those rules again, and to try to get them in the correct sequence.

I would like to recover the old rules from my LaCie disk back up of my Hard Disk, but I don't know what file to look for.

Any ideas what to do?

MessageRules.plist

In the Library/Mail folder under your home folder.

edit- Oops, just noticed your OS. That's for (I think) OS X 10.3 and later... it may not be the same.

Thanks for that help.
Worked fine.

Just as well, as I had 30 Rules, not the twelve which I "remembered".

Glad to help. I keep a copy of that file as I've had the occasional problem with it, and you reminded me that I needed a new one. And I've got over 70 rules shocked
