Unauthorised ITunes Purchases....

In the past 2 or 3 months i've noticed when i go to download an App from my Iphone i get "This apple ID is not available" or something similar. Each time i go to http://iforgot.apple.com and answer security and then enter a new password.

On Tuesday i received a call from my bank about 6 transactions and asked if they were made by me. 5 x "£25 Monthly gift for r" and the last 1 was declined due to being OD.

I have filed a dispute with the bank, but I'm struggling to find a way to contact Apple. I called their support and they say i can't talk to anyone about it, but I can't even find an email contact?

Has this happened to anyone before and have you got the money back?

I've just found an e-form to contact Apple about Unauthorised iTunes a transactions but from reading around the internet they don't tend to be very helpful...

Surely they will see the IP address the purchases came from aswell as other information....

I only use the App Store on my iPhone to download apps and the odd time purchase them.....so £125 of monthly gifts stands out as being fraud i'd hope..

It was said best in one of the last posts on that web page - the problem was not the credit card, it was the iTunes account that had been compromised, and then abused.

It would be wise to read all that, and cancel the credit card as it said in that link.

It was a debit card that was on file....the bank have said the same as you...it was the iTunes account compromised as far as i know...


ITunes however are being unhelpful and and saying that i need to dispute the transactions via my bank and they can only refund via chargeback orders from the bank...

You need to say it is fraud and raise it with the bank. The bank will refund it.

iTunes accounts have been compromised, hackers have been selling accounts. I think the ability to "gift" items in the store must be the way they use other people's accounts to buy themselves apps.

I have said its fraud but they are unwilling to help as they say its not fraud as it was done via a compromised iTunes account.

Santander are being as unhelpful as possible, and say i need to deal with iTunes.

ITunes however say its down to the card issuer to issue chargebacks, but Santander aren't willing to do this.

It's compromised via a hack. It wasn't compromised by your stupidity? you haven't used a dictionary word for a password have you?

I don't see how this is any different to a hacker stealing credit card details from a online store.

If I were you I would change banks.

the password i use is in this format.. xxx1xxx1

x being letter
1 being number


its is a random mixture that i made up.

There is NO way it was my stupidity
