Ok, here's the dlea deal, and it's a good deal. My MBP will soon be replaced by a spanking new LOVE of my life - I [stupidly] used µ¥ MY EXISTING MBP to order 'her' - Was I wrong to do that?

It may be soon enough... THIS MBP is still fantastic (and covered with a full 18 months AppleCare) - What to do with the Apps/Software/Music/etc - Could just TM the [100+ GB'S] DATA / ETC onto my NEW one when it appears...yes? or is there a better/easier way?
saving all my data/apps/emails/music would be superb - I know that between 2 MBPS, 1 TM, the very knowledable peeps here (Hi You Clever People!;)), AND AppleCare, it will be done but, PLEASE HELP ADVISE.

I feel like I'm cheating on 'Mabel' already...She was my first Mac and she has well loved, well respected, admired etc...

What is it with so many Mac owners that they are never satisfied with what they have but are always lusting after the next "must have"? Marketing!

MBPs generally hold their value very well.

Once the new machine is set up, assuming TM Restore does it smoothly, consider eBaying or one of the other sales routes. Check with Apple whether the Applecare goes with it.

Thanks for that Ian. It has on my mind lately and, I just want it to go smoothly.

The new Mac is a good bit higher spec than my current one [totally] - Wasn't sure if a complete restore would be ok.
I'll set it up first.

AC may be ok, but it's not too important [yet]. Need to get the new one here first.

I will update the pic in my sig as soon as possible. THEN you'll see why I had to. Just had to I tells ya!
The old pic did it no justice. It was in lower light - but - it mattered not. It was [and still IS] beautiful.

Before you do the restore get Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper and make a full bootable clone of your HD, just to be on the safe side.

When it comes to kit you can't have too much paranoia.
