Its a complete change that if you only use Mac's you'll probably pick up very quickly, and the idea of multiple versions isn't new to Apple, just ask anyone who's used a DEC VAX. The implementation is nice, and it feels like Time Machine in use.

Yes It has been in VAX VMS for many, many years. Very useful it is too.

BT -> Zen -> F2S -> Bulldog -> Be* -> BT Infinity

This discussion has convinced me not to hurry to switch to Lion. I was already discouraged by the fact that it does not have Rosetta, and I have a few old PPC applications that I only use rarely, so they would not be worth replacing, but I'm reluctant to lose them all together. It means that Lion would effectively be a £500 upgrade for me, so I will stick to Snow Leopard for the foreseeable future.

Yes I've found a few ppc programs that I couldn't run. I ended up installing SL onto another hard drive. Obviously only good if you have another drive and the space and you don't need to run the programs often.
Still it's a workaround.

Likewise - the discussion has convinced me that I was right not to install Lion from the outset despite liking a number of new features having watched Mr Jobs' presentation. I will continue to monitor and review my options from time to time.

I have looked into this and concluded quite quickly anyway - it has just taken this long to STILL feel this way - and yes, too blinking right it isn't as secure as one may originally have thought.

Ho-Hum.

I am still happy with OS X Lion as such, but am let down that SJ has joined with BG in a communal marriage of in-convenience-ing.

Sickening really, but at least it hasn't gone that far. **rolls-eyes**

I would, however, prefer to go to that 'Scottish' forum (how ShakieSpearey in.
It's 100 SAFE TO GO TO. Click if you want. Isn't even "Showing-Orf"? Well, stuff that.
Am prowd tttae be a Scotch, and that be tha.aa.aaat, arrgh - shiver my tembres, mais oui, hombre, malachino, toby shore, innit - darn it - lickettysplit - in da crib... fur wahnt of a better phonetic.. Cheerz gringo.

The scotch link IS 100% safe to click on (as any & all my links are!) - The only reason that I use tinyurl.com is that 1: It's safe, and 2: I can fit MORE links in my sig to help others, et 4: you never even checked for a [three]? Wasn't two enough for you? Typisch! smirk

Ok then, for any nonbelievers, click here. tongue
