One thing I have discovered - some very old MS files - xls and .doc - that have not be saved by 2004 cannot be opened by 08/11. So make sure every single file you might ever need to refer to has at least been saved using 2004 before ditching it...

It is 2004 that I have so will need to upgrade before even thinking of installing Lion
