gmail on ipad

Please forgive me if this query has been raised before - I understand that others have had similar probs.

Briefly, we got fed up with btyahoo, the last straw being problems porting e-mails from btyahoo to outlook 2007, e.g. repeatedly demanding passwords.

Therefore we aree kicking btyahoo into touch and moving to gmail. That's worked fine when using non-Apple desktop or laptop for porting e-mails into outlook 2007. However we have been unable to set up gmail on an ipad (version1), although btyahoo stuff ports across OK.

So, cutting to the chase after all that preamble, how does one set up to run gmail stuff on an ipad, please?

Your (non-technical) instructions would be much appreciated!

It should be as simple as -

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Gmail

Then just put in your normal login details and it should automagically work!

Or use the Exchange option and use m.google.com as the server name, with your full gmail address as the username.

The Exchange option lets you sync calendars and contacts easily too - oh, and delete is delete, whereas if you use the gmail option, delete is archive (!).
