deleting iTunes

I have a Windows XP pc. My wife has an iPad. She wanted music on it. I got all the selection she wanted on the XP and put them into Windows iTunes. I then converted them into her iPad and yes, she gets them in. What neither of us can see is how to delete any particular piece. I have many hundreds which she now has, that was easy enough. Can't get rid of anything she doesn't want. Please help

With my copy of iTunes, running on an iMac, all I have to do is right-click the song (or album) that I don't want and select Delete from the pop-up menu.

This doesn't work if the item is in a smart playlist, nor if the item is in a shared library on another machine- you have to be at the machine on which the item actually exists.

Is that any help?

Easy. You swipe the selection and delete comes up, agree, job done
