INVISIBLES

INVISIBLES - Why cannot I see them?

On our G4 Macs I can get the text being typed to show the normally 'invisible' formatting characters such as .new line, tab; etc.

How can this be done on our 'new improved' MacBookPro?

Tried TextEdit Help and it ignores the topic.

I am trying to produce a Typed Document in TextEdit and I want as much help as I can get when formatting.

Use a decent editor (e.g. TextWrangler) rather than TextEdit.
