Hi, the screen did not seem to be dirty. However there seem to be some improvement. Many thanks for the tip.

It's a good idea to restart the iPad indeed any iOS device once in a while.
I think Safari in particular gobbles up lots of memory. Hold down the side button until you see a switch off slider, do the same to restart.
