Oh, in that case just use "Add to Library...," as brightd say. On the Mac it is under the File menu.

But you should be able to just open iTunes, go to the Movie tab and then find the file in whatever Windows Explorer is called these days and drag & drop. But the the menu way works fine.

Many thanks!

That appears to have improved things!

Have to be honest & say that, when I first opened iTunes, I got the impression that is was meant to show my existing listings of files (or you select where the existing list was located). It just didn't occur to me that you had to create a specific iTunes Listing!

I think that there are still things that I'm not quite clear on, but I'll leave those queries for now so I can get to grips with it better!

Many thanks,

Between yourself & brightd, that seems to have sorted the main issue!

Certainly simply going into File Manager & trying to Drag/Drop certainly doesn't appear to work!

I think I've still got quite a bit of a Learning-Curve to sort it totally, but I'll "ride-with-it" until I've got more familiar with it!

There is an option to let iTunes consolidate your music library, but I am pretty sure you can get it to search for any stuff on your HD. Not sure how well that works with videos, though (sooner or later Apple is going to have to bite the bullet and unbundle the various iTunes components).

Once in iTunes if you do a Get Info (right click menu, not sure of the Windows keystroke), you can set pretty well all of the meta data to your hearts content (you will need to resync with the iPad, if you have already synced).

Glad it is sorted. Happy viewing.
