Email client for Macbook

Hi all
I have just started using a MacBook Pro and would have liked to use Outlook as my email client but at nearly £90 for a stand alone version I will give it a miss. What would you recommend as an email client for Mac? I have heard Thunderbird mentioned. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Yep. Mail.app has (like any other app) its eccentricities, but gets the job done.

Another vote for Mail.app.

Unless you've got some specific requirement that it can't handle of course, but it works for all I want to do.

And another vote for Mail - which when combined and working seamlessly with the other Apple apps - Calendar and Contacts - does everything that I remember Outlook providing.

interestingly enough, I recently set up email on a Mac to connect to an Exchange server. I tried using Outlook but it wouldn't fetch the folder list. Apple's Mail app worked flawlessly.

Buying Office just to get a mail client seems rather excessive. Everything that you need is provided free by Apple.

It works for me every time and I use Office 2016 with their Exchange e-mail
