SECURITY SOFTWARE- AVAST

Starting to realise that it could be a good idea to instal security software on MBP.

One of the few free packages for MACS is AVAST, with reasonable review marks.

Does anyone have experience of this on APPLE hardware?

Good or Bad.

I've been running the free version of this for a good couple of years.

Never had any problems with it. Yes it has notified me of a problem a couple of times and told me a Site was not safe. As far as I know I've never unwittingly downloaded anything and when I've done a complete scan - it takes its time but I always seem to be clear of any infections.

Get ClamXav and set it to scan your mail folders and anywhere you download to.

Grab the free version of Malwarebytes and run it periodically, or if you have any reason to feel concerned.

That plus sound browsing habits should be all you need.
