LOL, no not on the MAC, but on Safari. I have tried to use it for a couple of days on and off and sorry, it is Firefox all the way

Works better for me, on Mac OS, than any other browser. And synchronises nicely across devices.
But it takes a while to get used to anything new.

The bookmarks for a start, no bookmarks bar and I don't like the way the URL bar is over the top of the tabs instead of being under them. Some extensions I use are not available.

The bookmarks for a start, no bookmarks bar Use the "View/Customize Toolbar" menu option. Drag the "Bookmarks" icon to where you would like to see it. Then you can display/hide bookmarks at will by clicking on the star. That way you get more real estate when you want it, but can have bookmarks on all the time if that's what you want. You can customise the toolbar to your heart's content. I don't like the way the URL bar is over the top of the tabs instead of being under them. I don't think you can rearrange the layout, but that seems to be a very minor quibble. Some extensions I use are not available. Which ones?

As Tiny says, you can customise that - the default set is very much Apple's minimalist philosophy, but I have a bookmarks menu full of years of clutter and a toolbar based collection which I curate much more aggressively, since I use them all.
Which extensions? If you use Ublock, switch to Adguard.
TamperMonkey lets you add loads of custom stuff.

That is not what i mean, with firefox and Chrome for that matter you can have a bookmarks bar under the URL bar that can hold your most used Bookmarks, Safari don't have that.

Minor to you, but annoying to me as I am used to the way Firefox and chrome does this. there used to be browser years ago that displayed things the way Safari does, and it annoyed me then.
Which ones?
Ublock Origin is one

This is a bit old, but might still be right:

Ublock Origin is one Safari's extension system is different to the Chrome designed system that Firefox adopted. UBlock origin's developer would have to create a Safari version, which he hasn't. Adguard works well on my Mac and iPad.

Do you mean like a row of bookmark drop downs (organised by category or whatever)? 'Cos that's exactly what I have. Just add bookmarks or folders of 'em to the favourites at the top of Edit Bookmarks.
I find Adguard superior to Unlock - and you can grab it on the App Store.

I think your problem is just that Safari is different to Firefox. So you find Safari annoying in the same way that I find Firefox annoying when I’m on a Linux machine (and Edge even more annoying on Windows).
Nothing wrong in sticking with what you are used to.
