I was forgetting that Time Machine wasn't introduced until Leopard.

I’ve still got a Time Capsule on the bookshelf. Maybe that should be the next antique I fire up for my “Ancient Apple” series.

Anyone got a cheese grater Mac Pro handy? 😅

I've never been anything approaching a Mac power user, so performance wasn't really the issue in my case... I just felt most "comfortable" somehow with Snow Leopard.

(I wasn't all that sure about Time Machine at first, but it was't long before I grew to love it. Best security blanket ever laugh )

I loved Time Machine because it was very similar to software I used on Windows (forget its name now). It was also similar in concept to the IBM Tivoli enterprise software that I managed at work (although that included a huge IBM automated tape library).

The concept of continuous backups of changed files, rather than daily monolithic backups, is a brilliant idea. Users were always most impressed that I could restore lost files within a few minutes without having to worry about which backup set contained the missing file.
