If you are an iPhone/iPad user (I know Adrian isn’t) , it can be worth leaving it enabled even if you don’t have to connected to a WiFi network.

If you have just one iPhone (provided by employer) that you need best battery life, and you use no other apple devices or bluetooth headsets or car connection, it is frustrating. I understand it is turned on due to reducing support calls to Apple.

Huh ? Are you never in range of a friendly Wifi network ?

It would use less battery if it spent time connected to Wifi, not having to use LTE.

What is a friendly Wi-fi? The only Wi-Fi I would call friendly are the ones that belong to family, friends and my own.
The one in our town centre is a pain to use, want far too much info and I would certainly not use a public Wi-Fi without a VPN.

In the context of that post, a friendly wi-fi network would be a company one and (possibly) a home one. I would expect the company one to be better secured.

The quote is confused, are you asking me or or Adrian?
I turn off bluetooth as I have no need for it; and I turn off WiFi when on customer sites as they don't have visitor wifi.

It would use less battery if it spent time connected to Wifi, not having to use LTE.

That is a no brainer, and something of course use when in range of WiFi I can actually use.

The one we have access to at work is a public one that they use for customers, so still not friendly for me. The company, one we don't have access to apart from the handsets.

Yeah, I thought from what you said that you were keeping WiFi turned off as well as Bluetooth.

I would lose so much functionality without wifi and BT. I use my iPhone as a webcam, watch unlock, iPad sidecar, airdrop between devices etc that it becomes hard to work without but appreciate it is not for everyone.
