Nice

I get this on the old HTC from may 2011 linked the the computer by the wifi hotspot.

Not as nice as the FTTC at max I pay for at 40Mbs and 10 up.

http://www.speedtest.net/result/2612444126.png

http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_wildfire_s-3777.php

data being the good bit, what I get now does not seem that good , have had 4 download before, this cell in a town has wildly various speedtests. If the phone got upto 5Mbs down would be nice. Maybe the next will as upto 14 download loking at Samsung web site.

----------------------------------------------------
will go on Tuesday 16th so a few weeks to the nearby 3 shop and get a Samsung galaxy s3 mini with this HSPA standard. guess as can do twice as fast download as the HTC wildfire will run faster and upload up to 5Mbs not the rubbish 0.3 something max I get now that will go up as a newer better spec phone and getting into 1Ghz dual core processing power.

Network/Bearer and Wireless Connectivity
GSM 3G , HSUPA
EDGE / GPRS (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900MHZ)
HSPA 14.4 / 5.76
802.11a/b/g/n 2.4 + 5GHz

What I will get in 2 and a bit weeks, Wander if I will get more speed from the tower base stations with the better HSPA standard.

Will do speedtest and but on here in a few weeks with the then ( not got yet) new Samsung s3 mini phone

I just used the speedtest app on the phone.

I think the newer phones all get decent speeds. I'm in central london ATM will test at home later.

Do you guys think your results around 12 Mb/s are HSPA+42 speeds ?

I believe my area was upgraded to HSPA+42 with three.co.uk last week but as yet I have't got a compatible device, but I'm due for an update in April.

Three on iPhone 4 Canterbury city centre...

Test Date: Apr 1, 2013 21:07
Download: 0.27 Mbps
Upload: 0.01 Mbps
Ping: 222 ms
Connection Type: Cellular
Server: Maidstone

Three's signal is rubbish here, even though they claim full signal and ultrafast (although my phone doesn't support ultrafast).

That would be very good if you could do that, thanks. The service has been fine and reliable for months but just lately has took a noticeable dip in presentation.

I don't think you need DC-HSPA (the 42megabit spec) to get 12megabit/sec speed tests. I've seen 11 on an old HSPA+ site. Sadly the Huawei E585 MiFi that 3 sell is still only HSPA+ (the 22megabit spec).

James BT Infinity 2 19/09/2012 - Speeds ~46 / ~8.5 Mbps - Sync 48.9 / 10 Mbps @ 470m
Huawei modem -> Draytek 2820 -> Airport Extreme -> Switch -> Windows/Mac/Linux/NAS/Phone/TV
13 years of broadband - 1999 ntl:(512k/1M)/BTbusiness(2M)/Metronet(2M)/Bulldog(8M/16M)/BE(19M/16M)/BT FTTC(46M)

Thanks for the info mr_mojo, the DC-HSPA is impressive, I have upgraded the S2 to a S4 which is due at the end of April & I'll post some speedtests with the new hardware when I've got it up and running.

Currently @ Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport.

On Samsung GS3

EE 4G ~ seeing @ 30-31Mbps Down and 12-14Mbps Up
Pings @ 35/45ms

Seems pretty good.
EE are supposed to be announcing soon the doubling of speeds in some areas

Going back to sunday 31st.

What I get on the new Samsung just now tethered to computer wireless.

http://www.speedtest.net/result/2650190422.png

Upload more as goes to 5Mb not the slow speed I got before but tonight the download is less than a few weeks ago and this one can go upto 14Mb HSDPA.

Better phone and upload is but is a naff overused and no bandwidth given to it tower!
