Website not available on EE mobile but OK on others?

Morning,

Strange problem here, our school website is not being shown on EE mobiles when using the mobile network, on Wi-Fi its fine, tested on O2 and Vodafone and they are OK.

All we get is a page from a hosting parking company.

Ive done some searching and some are suggesting its EE blocking IPV6, but the company hosting are insisting its a virus/malware on the device (iPhone)...

Any advice appreciated..

EE on iOS devices uses IPv6 by default. Your site is publishing both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
My guess is the IPv6 version of your page doesn't load.

My EE iPhone doesn't load your page, but over my Virgin Media broadband, the iPhone does. So there is no problem with the phone showing your page. We need someone else with an IPv6 connection to try and access it.

This is certainly not malware, that is technical garbage.

Great thanks for looking, I also questioned the malware excuse, they didnt seem to understand that there is a difference between IPV4 and 6.

Hopeless.

Would asking them to disable the IPV6 connection work for EE (seems to only be them and they way they deal with IPV6)?

Im on Virgin too so cant check using IPV6. I'd appreciate it if someone who does could test it so I can throw this back at the hosting company or EE.

Can confirm works over IPv4 but not over IPv6 (Cerberus). EE use IPv6 by default. So definitely your IPv6 is the issue. Quickest fix would be to update the DNS for record to remove the AAAA which when added basically advertises "connect to me on IPv6", once gone that will force all access to IPv4.

It isn't an EE issue, it is definitely an IPv6 issue. Quite a few ISPs use IPv6 now so that website might be unavailable to 20% or more of visitors.

Ask them to remove the AAAA record from the DNS entry, that will sort it (although may take a few hours for the change to take effect).
