Not pointless as you state, if Three need the core capacity before they can upgrade individual locations.

Here using my OnePlus Nord, dual SIM android 10 phone and the Speedtest.net app

* Three PAYG SIM - 46 / 26 and ping of 48ms
* EE PAYG SIM - 32 / 41 and ping of 22ms

If you are using Smarty, then you may be speed limited by them, lower than Three customers (as its cheaper!).

Smarty is not a network. They are a discount brand of Three; and to make it cheaper things have to be different.
