Welcome to the three network, where mast contention makes using the web utterly pointless.

Smarty gives me terrible speeds over near Stafford Park - tried a 4GB sim in my 818 and RedMi and both gave under 20Mbps and generally 3-5Mbps during peak. The close tower and the one I connect too is a fair distance away.

Sorry, you are correct and I did say band 20 in the above post and edited to not provide false info.

I was looking at o2 - my apologies - I have been on cellmapper alot this month to come up with a solution to my speed issue. CFP was in the region of 220k so a no go. So far this month I have tried Vodafone, 3 and o2 via various virtual operators. The best one for me was Vodafone but something changed recently as I could pull 90Mbps off peak its now around 30-40Mpbs occasionally sitting around 20odd during the evening so perfectly fine for netflix etc as the house has 2 kids, the ADSL does not cut it and we constantly fighting for who can stream what.

Would love to try EE however no PAYG unlimited SIM in a reasonable price bracket is available.
