Looks like a Hutchison pole, that will probably have 4G/5G for Three, and 4G only for EE, at least thats what happened in my town. EE hardly ever have 5G on these.

It looks like there is a set of 5g MIMO antenna panels at the top of that "pole of wonder".

I check on Three there is no work there. Only EE working on this new mobile mast. The engineers told me it will be 5G EE (MBNL)

It is definitely an EE mast.

Shame they're not putting their kit on the new Three mast in Madeley by Tesco.

very nice.

MBNL is the joint organisation owned by EE and Three together, its unusual to have an EE unilateral, there are a few thousand of Three unlaterals.

If Three and Vodafone are allowed to merge, expect a lot of change around MBNL...!

Went pass there today as you are correct there. One of of the engineer supervisor told me 5G will be Three panel and 4G panel will be Three & EE but EE 5G will be installing 2nd one later in end of September by the look of the work upcoming.

That small top panel is a "massive MIMO" needed for the high band (capacity) 5G signals; and if two rows are fitted than it will be a joint EE and Three 4G and 5G pole. That explains why there is a gap below the Three 5G panels for something else; I assumed as novel space separator.

All the poles that look like the picture you provided in my town are 4G/5G for Three, and 4G for EE only, all installed under the "MBNL" name, and in many cases replaced older poles.

e.g. this one by Morrisons, has really fast 4G from EE, and 4G/5G from Three; it has been in place about 3 years now. https://maps.app.goo.gl/A1fJWhreBSiYXJR3A

Looks very similar to the new 3/EE monopoles fitted in Lincoln, except the Lincoln ones only have the single layer of 5G MIMO at the top. 3 went live about 3-6 Months after installation, EE does not appear to be live yet on many of them. There are both 3 and EE stickers on the cabinet.

I went to Hermitage Way with two sims, Three (smarty) and EE (1p mobile) on same mobile phone A55 5G, both only pick up 4G but not great speed. Smarty 4G get 14.6Mbps down and 3.2Mbps up - no 5G! And 1p Mobile 4G get 69.4Mbps down and 52.8Mbps up - no 5G!

https://i.ibb.co/hcn7zHX/Screenshot-3.png - three
https://i.ibb.co/MyvG6L9/Screenshot-2.png - ee

I expecting 4G to be lots better! But very poor on Three but EE could do better!

The new PoW mast is nearly finished work but think it not fully active yet! (probably next year)

No active EE, it may be in test mode but my phone on SPUSU (EE) shows very low signal in the vicinity.

New masts can go live quickly, but then take ages to get full speeds; can take a year or more to fully integrate.

In my town all the 5G poles were replacing older 4G only services, and the 4G improved (newer radios, more capacity bands) and the 5G for Three was in addition.

Excellent, backhaul was ready smile

Netmonster was reported EE 4G LTE 1800 / 5G NSA 3600
EARFCN 1617

EE standard L03 (1800 MHz) base layer.

BW n48

EE's N48 layer (3600 MHz) for NR.

NSA (Non StandAlone) means the phone will sit on 4G (showing a 5G logo!) and when you use data, will make use of the 5G speeds, and then go back to 4G. This saves battery; and means all the complex signalling still runs over 4G.

That's good. Seem EE 5G was very quick to build new PoW mast and active after 3 days. Quicker than Three (take ages months, months or even a year wait) as I know Three not active on this mast yet. EE need to updated map coverage thought and also cellmapper too!

Can these masts share 5G or are the small 5G antennae single operator only? This mast looks to have space for another set of 5G antennae whereas the new monopoles in my area only appear to have spaces for the single set. I assume they can share 4G OK.
