WiFi, yes.

There could be quite a few wireless networks around that area, but considering the upload was high, I find that the unlikely cause (also, the AirCard was in my bag, which is obviously less than 1m away (probably nearer half a metre) from the my iPhone when in use).

I also don't get any better speed back at home (south east Kent). So these people that are getting >100Mbs must be on a completely empty/unused segment of the 4G EE network.

It also depends what Cat type your aircard is.

My iPhone 6 last Sunday night managed 76mbps download and 30 upload, but right now I'm getting 50mbps download and 15 upload - standing in the same place (my front room). It also depends on the load on the speed test server.

I find WiFi in cities (tethering) to be hopeless and end up using USB cable.

Now I have a 4G device and the EE sim have been speed testing around and the variability even in an 8 second period is pretty large. I am wondering how sustained the highest speeds people post are, I know some testers lean towards burst rather than mean.

Netflix on 4G was impressive, buffered enough for a 1 mile train tunnel, but failed just on emerging before picking signal up again.

agreed, I have big variability in my local area, some masts are "doublespeed" and some are not. I assume different backhaul. E.g. at my friends house across town I get speeds of 10 to 15 mbps. The insane speeds reported on Digital Spy are 133mbps in Newcastle and Devon - and I personally assume these are in areas of no other EE 4G users.

I can fairly regularly hit 58 to 60mbps on lots of different speedtest.net sites, but using your tester on an iPhone 6 the download is around 40 and upload is very variable. The graphs vary dramatically depending on time of day - as you'd expect.

EE in this area is the popular network, others (especially Vodafone) still don't have 3G coverage indoors.

Just to add it seam EE are now adding some mins/texts for free just had this text so it now has 500 mins un texts and another 2gig of data they really are trying their best to snatch users from other networks

I used this on a Drive from Crawley to Instow and throughout the weekend and back and was impressed..

Used in a Y800 Mi-Fi so Wi-Fi limited it to around 45mbps, I was getting a 30-45mbps download and 7-30mbps upload on 4G driving down the M23, M23 and M3.

3G for the rest of the journey and that was very frequent 7-19mbps download and 0.8-2.8mbps upload and most of these tests where done in rural locations along the A303 and other A roads.

And whilst at the Hotel on the coast I was getting 15-20mbps download and 1.3-2.4mbps upload.

The latency was pretty good too, and streaming HD Video, BBC iPlayer in HD with 5-6 devices connected simultaneously.

So very impressed, and once I shake the O2 dog from my leg I will be joining.

After reading your post Ash I put the SIM back into my phone and received the same text message. (I had only used it to confirm my phone was unlocked and run a couple of speedtests)

How they have taken £15 from my credit remains to be seen though as I had none!

Well now having used it for over 2 weeks at work

its been solid

according to my phone

1 bar of signal and I'm getting 20-25Mbps download and about 4-6Mbps upload

pretty nice considering my work connection is usually 1mbps max

I feel also out in the country side their coverage is miles ahead of o2 at least up here

I'm getting 4G in a farm 10miles from the nearest town and when it does drop out its very strong H+

can't say I'm anything more than impressed at the moment.

Same message in the EE status page on the Kindle. If they've managed to bill me then it would be a very clever as have not given them card details.
