Not a surprise, always has been the case.

Our http://labs.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest shows the average and graphs.

Yours also causes the OS / browser to ask for location, and ask for it to be bookmarked. Yours only has one server, and doesn't have detailed logs, as the Ookla app does. Yours doesn't show WiFi versus LTE versus HSPA+ versus GPRS etc. Ookla does.

Graphs are nice, but yours is still in the early stages in comparison. When a route from a cellular provider to your server is congested, you can't select a different server, with ookla you can.

The cellular ISPs are probably the largest, given BT, Virgin etc, have 5m to 8m customers, and O2 have 28million and EE something like 25million customers.

Indeed it is and I've been crunching a few numbers this afternoon and will be able to afford to pay off my iPhone from O2 this month.

So I will be leaving O2 on the 14th

Oh yeah slight update, hit 10mbps!

Maybe just me but I took up the free SIM offer and put the SIM in my dual SIM phone, (Hisense U971). At the end of the two months my phone would turn off WiFi whenever coming out of "sleep mode".

A factory reset of the phone was required to get back to normal operation!

Unlimited? Their web site says "This Booster comes with a fair use policy of 1GB a month." What happens when you exceed it? I expect to use between 10GB and 20GB per month in a mifi.

You're probably right. I've been very impressed. Mostly with download speeds exceeding 30MB/sec. I may decide to go for their £20 per month / 15GB cap deal.

And of course they were also finding out how much people will download if given an effectively "unlimited" allowance.

I half expected to see revised tariffs appearing. However, with the dead hand of BT looking over the business, all bets are off.

BT have consistently proved their ability to screw up over and over again. No imagination, no customer perspective and a really bad attitude.

I'm hoping that a monopoly situation won't be brought about by allowing Three to buy O2 and BT to buy EE, but that will require a change of government: this lot are deeply in the pocket of big business.
