Yes he could port his existing phone number to VOIP before he moves and have that on VOIP, but why bother?

I setup a new Sipgate account a couple of weeks ago. Using a Linksys PAP2T off ebay (cheap).
This one is not running on Three, but otherwise the setup was easy, and the call quality good.

Separately, I believe that Three give you a public IP, no CGNAT, so Voip should work fine. Maybe others could confirm.

Don't know how accurate or how old it is but this site states:

"ONLY THREE MOBILE PROVIDE PUBLIC IP ADDRESSES BUT ONLY ON THEIR 3G CONNECTIONS AND THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEED SERVICE"

However this page from a year ago suggests EE should be well into the roll out of ipv6 by now, it was at 28.5% a year ago:

When checking on whatsmyip with EE,I am seeing an ipv4 (in the range 213.205.240.xx) and an ipv6 address. So I am guessing it is not using CGNAT if it shows an ipv6 address?

I am suspecting that page will show you the public address on the other side of the CGNAT

I've been using a Three 4G connection for the last year as resilience for FTTC and can confirm that Three provide a public IP address provided the APN is configured to be "3internet". If the APN is set to "three.co.uk", they allocate a private CGNAT IP address. The public IP address is fairly dynamic; it changes at irregular intervals and probably once or twice a week on average.

Is it a globally-routeable IPv6 address or just a link-local address (starting "fe80")? If the latter, it's not useable externally.

What IP details does you device show?

Grandstream HT801 arrived and working..
I was looking at the router settings and the APN is set to Tele2.se and cannot be changed, I take it this because he bought a semi locked one on an auction site.
