I would posit that the content provided by Max was probably fine. However, given the type of hosting it is quite likely that a number of people use it to host bad content. Parts of the site are probably absolutely no problem but other parts most likely have things that have been detected as malicious. Malwarebytes will mark the whole site because parts of it are bad content - not uncommon.

Agreed, those whom remember Geocities will recall the horrendous pop up adverts the site added to your content ... to pay for it. These ads ended up being the end of the site, as the owners did not screen them for malware. Over a decade ago.
