Thanks - I think for my use case the 5103e is more expensive and greater capacity than I need. If this was for my main residence and I had to use 4G/5G for broadband, then I'd be willing to pay top dollar for a gold plated solution.
Not only do I now want to spend too much even it works, I'm thinking that worst case (whatever I buy) is that I find it simply doesn't work as I hope. In that case it'll be appearing on EBay and I'll be taking a modest loss on the price difference, and that loss is likely to be bigger if I spend more.
I gave you two options both routers i've used, one about £40 and the other about £140 ish .....
both will give you better signal than your phone will.
That said, all you have said that your phones give you okish signal with We don't know what the 3/ee maps are like in the area you want better internet. Atm we are just stabbing a tail to a donkey blind folded .
My use case with both routers as suggested brought a stable internet from to 2-3mbits indoors to 30 to 70mbits (did do an evening of 100mbits) but that is for my area, property. But I live in the new forest, where traffic can balloon.
