Wireless conn keeps dropping briefly

Hi all,

Just configured my new VM cable connection and wireless router with it; seems fine, except that when the main (ethernet wired) comp is switched off, the wireless conn to the other comp seems to 'dip' briefly frequently - every few minutes there's an outage for a few secs and the annoying wireless adapter software pops up to tell you its scanning for networks etc etc. It reconnects OK if patient.

Does anyone have suggestions as to why this is? I really didn't plan to leave the wired comp on at all times.

Does the wired one have a wireless adapter. If so it may be switched on.

If it is also an 802.11b (11mb/.s) adapter and the adapter in the other PC is 802.11g (54Mb/s) it might be causing a glitch as the wireless network reconfigures 802.11g
