Bypassing work laptop VPN at home

[link to this post]

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to networking so hope someone can help.......

My own PC is being repaired so am using work laptop at home in the meantime. I can connect to internet via the work VPN but I wanted to know if I could bypass this and just connect to my broadband as if it were my own laptop.

The work network blocks certain sites like webmail/flickr etc - hence why I want to temporarily be able to go around this just while I'm using it for home rather than for work.

Have tried a few things but only way I can connect to the internet is by the work VPN

Grateful for any advice - as I don't want to mess about with the laptop if its not possible.

Keith

If you are not sure what you are doing, then it may be best to suffer loss of some sites for a while, otherwise you risk messing up the work machine and getting into further trouble.

Some work machines are very well locked down, so without knowing what they've done its hard to suggest what you can do.

Thanks Andrew - that's what I thought.

Think the only way round it would be to log in as an Administrator which I can't do.

Chances are it is getting a DHCP address on its network interface, but browsing doesn't work due to a hard coded proxy in Internet explorer
