P2P throttling over wireless?

Hi everyone,

My friend has 2 computers, one which is connected to the Internet via DSL, and the other which is wireless. It seems that the DSL computer is being throttled over P2P, but not the wireless one. Is this possible?

you need to provide a bit more information...

define wireless (ie wireless router or Wireless ISP)
1 or 2 ISPs
How do you know he is being trottled?

If its a case of 1 ISP and the wireless PC is just a wireless connection by a regular ADSL router then the ISP could not selectivly throttle 1 PC, they would just throttle the line wich would affect both PCs

Hi, this is possible, if the ISP is throttling the wired connection and the wireless connection has connected to another ISP service, the neighbours!

Wireless ISPs (WiMax) have low bandwidth limits so the connection is probably being limited due to you going over your data allowence.

But if you mean wifi to ethernet connections then theres a good chance hes connected to another SSID and if on someone elses connection that is being throttled in a different way. Please take the time to understand wireless connections and ethernet connections as ys they may both go down DSL lines, a wireless connection could go down any OTHER DSL or cable line.
