TBB & BT Speed Test

[link to this post]

Below are tests - Think BB over a period and BT 0847 today. As I am unhappy with my present ISP (after many years with them) and, based on BT Test, obtained an MAC, I am confused at the discrepancy of these tests.
Comment appreciated. Thanks.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 276 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

This test was not conclusive and further testing is required. This might be useful for your ISP to investigate the fault.

none of your TBB tests are at 0847, is it possible your ISP or exchange has a peak load around that time with businesses opening up that gave the low speed ?

It's hard to draw any conclusions from a single BT test against a set of TBB tests TBH. Two of your TBB tests are at about the maximum you can get on MaxDSL.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I have carried out BT Tests for some three weeks (when I wasn't "timed out"). Lowest was around circs 150 kbps.

if you get such a low result the BT test should take you through to stages 2 and 3 to help diagnose where the problem is - you use test logins rather than ISP login in the subsequent steps. Did you see that ? (doesn't always work).

Again, thanks for assistance. I did see the follow-on procedure but am rather nervous of doing so.
