Netgear DG834GT Vs DGN2000

I already have a Netgear DG834GT, is the Netgear DGN2000 worth buying as a replacement?

what are you expecting to improve ?

I'd say not worth it. I found the Wifi speed surprisingly poor for so called N.

I was thinking that the DGN2000 would help to improve my WiFi range and signal?

Although last night I installed inSSIDer and tried channels 1,6 and 11, the default Netgear channel was 11, but channel 1 showed notably less interference, as most of my neighbours are on channel 11.

Saying that, I quite like the look of the Netgear DGND3300, and all of my neighbours are using the standard 2.4 GHz frequency, no one in my area is using 5.0 GHz, so would the DGND3300 be a smarter buy?

5 GHz will have less interference, less range too I suspect.

If by "range" you mean the furthest it can go, there's not a lot in it with any of them. Fixed Tx power, fixed physics, same receiver sensitivity. You might get more sped at a given range closer in, but not at the limit of reception.

So in all fairness, do you think that I should save my money and stick with my Netgear DG834GT for the moment?

I must admit, it seems to be running sweet today after last nights channel change.
