Replace HH in modem only mode

Hey all,

Would love some advice. I'm running a HH5 with an R7000 router. I've also then got another R7000 router acting as an AP.

The HH has wireless disabled etc, so it's pretty much acting as a modem only. I don't want the HH bottlenecking at all, would you guys recommend replacing it with a straight up modem?

Is the first R7000 actually running as a router or a switch?

Where do you have DHCP enabled? In the HH or R7000?

It's running as a router.

DHCP setup on the HH, and the R7000 I think. The HH has a different range of IP's.

You really should turn it OFF in one of those.

The HH can normally be set to run in a Modem Only or Bridge Mode ... go for that option and you will have what you need. Do a Google search for "BT Home Hub modem only" and you should see instructions for your version.

That's on the Business version not the Home version

Ah, so is it best to use something else, not sure how's best to setup the network really?

I have a HH4 Type A at the moment, just been onto BT to try get a HH5.

How can I tell what cabinet I'm on, I haven't got fibre at the moment, on an EO line (see other post lol).

Oh sorry, you said you had a HH5. As you're on an EO line you don't have a cabinet.

Yeah my mistake, thought it was! Yeah of course I don't! 6mbps connection is really getting tiring now.
