5v dual band range extender?

[link to this post]

Or router with good IPv6 support with similar antenna config to Netgear D6400?

Ok that's back to front but bear with me.

Went FTTP with Zen (which is still superb) but at the time had the D6400 which covered the house nicely with wi-fi but as with others I'm sure I got frustrated with not being able to get it to work with IPv6 so switched to the Fritzbox 3490 which does IPv6 well but the range isn't as good so had to boost it with a Belkin range Extender.

The other bit I like about these two bits of kit is I've set the firmware to update automatically so saves me a job but I'd like to find a router with same range, antenna config and orientation as the D6400 but does IPv6.

If I can't get that I'd like to know if there's any range extenders that either plug into USB or can take a 5v pin connection as have the USB to pin type lead and a surge protector with USB sockets on the stairs where I also have a lamp as I'd like it under the table out of the way

All suggestions welcome.

Virgin (ADSL) => Namesco => Newnet => O2 => Plusnet => Zen => Newnet => Zen => Freeola => Vivaciti (using O2 Wholesale DSL) => Xilo (C&W Wholesale) => Xilo (O2 Wholesale) => Xilo (TT Wholesale due to O2 Wholesale closure) => Zen LLU => Zen FTTP (39.5 Mbps down, 9.5 Mbps up)
Router: Fritzbox 3490
