Need a replacement for BT Smart Hub 2 FTTP router.

Hi, so i just got my FTTP 300Mbps installed and compared to my old router the new ones wifi range is terrible, before hand i would get my max speed of 15Mbps at one end of the house and also get full bars of signal, now i can go next door to the home hub and loose a signal bar and at the other end of the house i get under 1Mbps and just 1 bar.

So i was wondering is there a sub £100 router i can just replace the smart hub with? thanks.

if wired speed is good, i would go for a wifi AP over a router. ubiquity is a good choice

An acquaintance has recently installed a Ubiquiti AMPLIFI https://store.amplifi.com/products/amplifi-mesh-wi-f... and is very impressed. Although it may be a little more than you want to pay - potentially, from the right distributor £250-300

Just in case, if you have digital voice over your FTTP then it will only work using the smarthub

I'm on BT's 500 down, 70 up. I was using BT Smart Hub 2 which was working working really well until the last software update which caused it drop wifi every so often.

I have since replaced it with this:

Works really well. Way better than SmartHub2.

I set it up in the other end of the house in wisp mode, get around 100-250Mbps, only cost £33.
