He was running a Virgin Hub 3 with tp-link Deco's running one main and two satellites across the house. This system was giving consistent speeds and excellent coverage.
The main deco is wired to the Virgin Hub 3 router and the satellites work wirelessly.
Virgin upgraded his service and offered him a Virgin Hub 5, since fitting the Virgin Hub 5, the WiFi across the house has become inconsistent with constant dropouts, speeds have dropped plus we can't seem to get anywhere near the speeds promised.
The decos run in access point only mode with Virgin doing the routing which is the setup we had on the Hub 3, I've tried switching off the wireless on the Virgin Hub 5 router but this makes the siltation worse which is really weird, at this point he's requested some Plume Superpods which Virgin have offered for free so we're seeing if this solves the problem.
We accept we're not going to get blinding speeds over WiFi but expected a speed increase once the connection was upgraded, as I final check I did check the router was getting the promised speed as was the main deco via a wired connection and it was.
Has anyone had similar issues because I'm at a loss as to why the only change we made was the Hub and it made everything worse.
Hub 3 (with deco system) - 350/400mpbs (on Windows10 laptop, iPhone and iPad via WiFi)
Huib 5 (with deco system) - 190 to 210 mbps (on same devices)
