Help with my connection drops?

[link to this post]

Hi all

Every 2-5 minutes the connection drops, and the only light on the router to go off is the internet light. The wireless lights and standby/power lights are on. I'm on a Netgear Wireles DG834 router and currently posting this on a laptop in the same room as the router.

Now if i turn the computer on in the other room not far away, the router seems and appears to re-boot itself. All lights go off including (expect the power light on the router, i think!)

I do sometimes get a message about other wireless networks when the connection drops but it usually connects again and i'm ok again for another few minutes. Any ideas on what is happening here?

I'm on Pipex at the moment if that makes any difference?

This has taken me ages to post this little message so if there is any extra info to help make a bigger picture let me know and i'll try and post again.

A little update

Haven't lost connection for certain for the last 15 minute and in that time previously i would have certainly lost the connection at least 7 times. Maybe it's sorted itselt out but if anybody has any ideas as to what happened/happening! I'd still be interested to hear.

Probably jinxed it all now.

Hmmm.

Everytime i boot up now it brings up the new hardware wizard. If i re-boot a few times it finds the connections however the internet symbol in the system tray is still trying to 'Aquire Network Address'

Any ideas anybody?
