belikin firmware upgrade

please could some1 help me out just bought belikin 7633
how do u upgrade firmware downloaded the newest ones form there support it wont upload
it says there is some thing wrong with image??

and how do you go about tweaking the snr on it tryed telnet 192.168.1.1 in the cmd prompt but it won connect

What firmware version do you have (apparently there's one out there that doesn't support telnet)?
You could always use "ssh" to open up a session with the router, and enter the commands that way (do a Google for SSH).

about the firmware surely if ive got the corrected firmware from the belkin site it should upgrade np using the firmware support???

That's your problem, firmware version .17 was sold by Dixons Stores Group (Dixons, PC World, Currys) and did have telnet disabled.

Can't see why you can't change firmware, unless the problem is it's actually a downgrade (as the firmware on the Belkin site is .11).
Are you directly connected, or trying to flash via a wireless connection?

Maybe try one of the unofficial firmwares (they're better than the Belkin ones, as they open up a lot of the "hidden" html pages).
