What were you trying to do when you lost access to the router config settings? At this tage, just concentrate on getting communications between the pc and the router. Please also tell us a little bit about your system and how you are going about setting it up.

Try this. Start, Connect to, Show all connections, then in Network Connections window right click on the one you're using, select properties, then on "this connection uses the following items" scroll down to TCP/IP, click on it, click on properties and check the circles for obtaining IP address and DNS servers automatically.

I am going to make you work harder with your descriptions.

How are you connecting to the router? When you used the wizard you got the message "modem is in use or not configured correctly" - was this from the wizard? May seem obvious to you - but not to me.

Remember that most people here will never have seen the wizard for your router, but can help if you provide good descriptions of the system or process

Are you using IE7 ? There is a known problem with Speedtouch setup web pages and this browser. There are other options, but the easiest one is to use Firefox or Opera to set up the Speedtouch.
