Wi-fi with BT Broadband

Please help: Using BT broadband with Voyager 105 and now want to go wireless. Rather than pay BT a monthly rental for 'Total Broadband' option can I simply plug an access point into the Voyager 105 or must I buy a replacement modem/router with wi-fi?

BT list the Netgear WG602 access point in their online BTShop but don't say which modems it works with.

Assuming your Voyager has a spare ethernet port you can use any WAP you like.

the 105 is a USB modem so you need to buy something wireless with ADSL integrated.

Thanks Jon, don't have it to hand so will need to check but the 105 is the most basic of the Voyager range, adequate but for single wired cnx only. Having done more research I think a modem/router/wireless unit is needed to replace the 105.

You already pay BT a 'monthly rental' for Broadband So I am not sure of your point.

The easiest way to add Wireless is to replace your modem with a Router with buiit-in ADSL modem and Wireless Access Point. Have a look at the Netgear DG834G that you can get from Amazon for just over forty quid.
