Cable labelling

[link to this post]

Any suggestions for some decent labelling for cat5 cables. I found these:

But they are in Australia and I need something sorted sooner. Anything similar about?

The Dymo or Brother label makers that use a tape cartridge are not bad if you feed some extra tape and fold it back on itself.

Sounds a lot neater than a bit of duct tape and a sharpie pen

The machine I have is similar to this,

http://www.brother-store.co.uk/product/pt-90.html

Produces self-adhesive labels, and I just feed some extra tape through to give enough to fold the sticky side back on itself.

Cheap, and reasonably durable. Not bad at all if you don't have hundreds to do.

Don't need markers if you can see where the cables go tongue

Having actually worked in cabinets quite a bit worse than that, without labels, I can tell you that yes, you can do it. But you'll waste an entire day tracing a single cable if your not careful. (and disconnect a few systems if you're really careless)

I use both of those on power cables, they can be a little bulky and never in the right place.

The OPs link is a lot better solution, but those ty-wraps will get him sorted short term.
