Router Statistics

[link to this post]

I'm looking for some help in getting a router that shows Error Seconds in the statistics, my reason for this is a bit longwinded so I won't bore you with it.
What I want is a Wireless N router, not too expensive and easy to setup, I know this sounds like wishful thinking but if anyone can suggest one I'd be very grateful, regards.

Sorry should have mentioned it's an ADSL router I need.

Netgear routers show Error Seconds and other errors via their TELNET interface.

Hi XRaySpex, thanks for your comment but I have a Netgear DG834N and have spoken to Netgear who told me I can't see Error Seconds on this router.

Try using Routerstats

http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/internet/files.htm#routerstats

This will work with the Netgear

This is what I can obtain from a DG834Gv5 --

/ # adsl defects
============== NEAR END =============
ES (Count of errored seconds): 0
SES (Count of Severely errored seconds): 0
LOS (Count of Loss of signal): 0
============== FAR END ==============
ES (Count of errored seconds): 0
SES (Count of Severely errored seconds): 0
LOS (Count of Loss of signal): 0

/ # adsl perf
============= NEAR END ===========
FEC : 36
CRC : 0
HEC : 1
============= FAR END ============
FEC : 0
CRC : 0
HEC : 0

/ #
What exactly is it that you wish to monitor?

Hi Burakkucat, I just want to be able to see my Error Seconds count, the stats you show are not available on the DG834N, regards.

Have you got the stats via telnet?

Hi Batboy, sorry I'm not sure what you me by telnet, not used to doing much more than reading the stats as shown by the router, could you explain to a layman what you mean by telnet please?
