It may be very useful for the emerging commercial space industry to be able to have stations with line of sight and opearting in vacuum to have that sort of speed avaliable to them.

Just because there isn't a domestic application doesn't mean it is useless.

No, the pump speed is varied and possibly reversed so by slightly changes in pressure the modulation technique would be 16WAM and as new pumps became available 32WAM &c.

OK, something to work on then. My B&Q double panel with fins in the lounge should make a pretty cool, er, hot antenna. I might have to set the thermostatic valve to 7 if I am going to Torrent the boxed set of The Wire though...

A lot of the scorn arises from coverage talking about WiFi and use within the home, i.e. press is as much to blame as public discussion
